The data were undertaken in two chronological phases: 1) Prior to the Covid-19 pandemic outbreak (the pre-pandemic phase 1) and 2) after the Covid-19 outbreak (phase 2). In both phases quantitative surveys preceded qualitative follow-up interviews. Software required to view the data: software that reads txt and csv files, Microsoft Word. This dataset contains: Both quantitative and qualitative data for two phases of data collection (pre-pandemic and post-pandemic outbreak). The quantitative survey data for both phases are openly available. The data has been de-identified and anonymised as far as possible. However, due to potential risk of participant re-identification through in-depth participant narratives, the qualitative data are available on request to bone fide researchers only. Date of data collection: 2019-2021 Information about geographic location of data collection: Phase 1 data were collected from doctors working in the Hampshire region. Phase 2 data were collected from a subset of the doctors from phase 1 as well as a cohort of doctors who graduated from their medical studies at the University of Southampton in 2019 and who were, at the time of data collection, living across the UK.
