Преходът към устойчиво развитие в Европейския зелен пакт през призмата на постсоциалистическия преход
Преходът към устойчиво развитие в Европейския зелен пакт през призмата на постсоциалистическия преход
The EU discourse about transition to a green sustainable economy reinforces the erasure of the important lessons from the post-socialist transition. The shift to capitalist market economies in Eastern Europe had dire economic and ecological consequences that stemmed from a process of deindustrialisation and rising inequalities and that continue to have repercussions for the region. We need to incorporate the experience of post-socialist transition in any attempts to formulate visions for a just and sustainable future.

Abstract
The EU discourse about transition to a green sustainable economy reinforces the erasure of the important lessons from the post-socialist transition. The shift to capitalist market economies in Eastern Europe had dire economic and ecological consequences that stemmed from a process of deindustrialisation and rising inequalities and that continue to have repercussions for the region. We need to incorporate the experience of post-socialist transition in any attempts to formulate visions for a just and sustainable future.
