Catalogue description: Asia-Europe Mediations consists of a series of exhibitions held in the city of Poznan (Poland) by around 120 artists from Asia and Europe. According to Tomasz Wendland, 'mediations' assume neither a desire of domination nor a desire for superiority. It is an idea of mutual recognition and an opportunity to look at one's own identity. It is also a desire to keep what is different and to search for common points. Asia that is seen by European eyes is different from the one in which Asian live. The same Europe looking from the Asian perspective is a different Europe.

Several art institutions from Poznan, among them Poznan National Museum, are involved in this project. The program is going to be continued in galleries in Kraków, Łódź and Warsaw and later on in Hannover and Dartington. Images of works in the present catalogue are accompanied by artist statements and artist biographies.
