Measuring the environmental impact of cultural and creative sector authentic assessment (CHEP festival)
Sustainability concerns are increasingly important priorities for cultural and creative sector students. However, the implications of creative practice design and resourcing decisions require further exploration and reflection.

Our CHEP Development Fund project connects higher education’s learning and teaching focus on sustainability with comparable cultural and creative sector initiatives to examine how students can measure and reflect on the environmental impact of authentic assessment activities.

This workshop will be structured intro three parts: (1) context – exploring the meeting points of education for sustainable development (ESD), authentic assessment and environmental reporting in the cultural and creative industries (2) demonstration – introducing a bespoke toolkit developed during the project with Fashion and Textiles staff and students (3) extension – discussing ideas on how to develop the toolkit and support its use across the University.
