Data set in support of the thesis 'Extinguishing desire with EMDR: Eye movement desensitisation and reprocessing (EMDR) for reducing cravings and restrained eating.'
An experimental study looking at the effectiveness of a group-based adapted eye movement desensitisation and reprocessing (EMDR) for addiction intervention, on desire for and restriction of target foods, in a sample of people who struggle with cravings.. This data is self-report measures collected pre, during and post a 4 week group intervention. Participants were allocated to one of three conditions: an eye movement condition (replicating the desensitisation process in EMDR), a working memory condition (involving intermediate subtraction) and an image only condition (which required no dual working memory task). The data was collected via Qualtrics and is quantitative.

Abstract

An experimental study looking at the effectiveness of a group-based adapted eye movement desensitisation and reprocessing (EMDR) for addiction intervention, on desire for and restriction of target foods, in a sample of people who struggle with cravings.. This data is self-report measures collected pre, during and post a 4 week group intervention. Participants were allocated to one of three conditions: an eye movement condition (replicating the desensitisation process in EMDR), a working memory condition (involving intermediate subtraction) and an image only condition (which required no dual working memory task). The data was collected via Qualtrics and is quantitative.
