Dataset for doctoral thesis titled "The heritagisation of Thai luxury retail developments and the embodiment of the “Utopolis.”
The data comprises interview transcripts from participants involved in the development of ICONSIAM and Central Ayutthaya, two luxury retail projects in Thailand that integrate Thai cultural heritage into their design. Each participant took part in a one-on-one interview, which lasted approximately one hour.
Additionally, the data includes focus group transcripts from participants who visit ICONSIAM and Central Ayutthaya as customers. One focus group was conducted for each luxury retail development, with six participants per group. Each focus group session also lasted approximately one hour. All transcripts for both the interviews and the focus groups are in XLSX file format.
Finally, the data includes images of design features at ICONSIAM and Central Ayutthaya, which were used and analyzed in this thesis. These images were captured by me with the approval of both retail developments, and no individuals were included in the photographs. All images are in JPEG format and labeled in accordance with the Figure numbers referenced in the thesis.
