Migrant entrepreneurship
Migrant entrepreneurship
This entry charts shifting perspectives on the phenomenon of ‘migrant entrepreneurship’, which has evolved from an initial theoretical preoccupation with the characteristics of entrepreneurs to a more integrated position cognisant of the structural limitations to the activities of migrant business owners. We draw attention to recent sub-disciplines, notably ‘refugee’ and ‘transnational entrepreneurship’, and suggest new avenues of research.
