Anomalous behavior of yield stress upon an increase in temperature under high strain rate conditions
Anomalous behavior of yield stress upon an increase in temperature under high strain rate conditions
The anomalous behavior of yield stress of materials upon an increase in temperature under high strain rate conditions are discussed. The transition of the material to the plastic state occurs when the stress attains a certain critical value. The effect of temperature can be taken can be taken into account by introducing the corresponding temperature dependences of the parameters. Higher temperatures correspond to lower values of the yield stress at moderate rates of loading. Yield criterion makes it possible to describe the behavior of the material in the entire range of strain rates. The increase in the yield stress is observed during cooling of the material as well as upon an increase in its strain rate.
