Optical microbottle resonator cavity alteration with high precision CO2 laser
A method in altering the microcavity of a whispering gallery mode (WGM) microbottle resonator (MBR) is reported with the utilization of high precision CO2 laser. The altered MBR cavity shows beneficial spectral features with clear WGM transmission dips of 20 dB. Even with increased surface roughness due to the CO2 laser ablation process, high Q optical resonances 10^5 were generated by the altered MBR.

Abstract
