Advancing behavioural guidance systems to help conserve the European eel (Anguilla anguilla): exploring the potential of electric fields in a two-choice test , submitted to Scientific Reports This ReadMe file describes the Data file accompanying the above publication. The dataset contains: 1. Tab 1 "Yellow Initial Pass + Response". Contains the data recorded during the yellow eel trials. Sheet includes information on eelID, day, electrified channel field strength (Vcm-1), channel, any (behaviour), reaction, route change, rejection, no change, passage (E/N), water depth (cm) and velocity (ms-1) upstream (US) and downstream (DS), water temperature (flume and holding tank)(°C), water conductivity (μScm-1), body mass (g) and total body length (cm). 2. Tab 2 "Yellow Overall Pass + Response". Contains the data recorded during the yellow eel trials. Sheet includes eelID, electrified channel field strength (Vcm-1), approach number, direction of travel, channel, any (behaviour), reaction, route change, rejection, no change and passage. 3. Tab 3 "Yellow EF". Contains the date relating to the electric field measured in the yellow eel trials. Sheet includes the three treatment pulser outputs (V) with the electrified channel field strength (Vcm-1) measured at the x and y coordinates in both the electrified and non-electrified channel. 4. Tab 4 "Silver Initial Pass + Response". Contains data recorded during the silver eel trials. Sheet includes information on eelID, day, electrified channel field strength (Vcm-1), frequency (Hz), channel, any (behaviour), reaction, route change, rejection, no change, passage (E/N), water depth (cm) and velocity upstream (ms-1) (US), downstream (DS), water temperature (flume and holding tank)(°C), water conductivity (μS/cm), body mass (g) and total body length (cm). 5. Tab 5 "Silver EF". Contains the date relating to the electric field measured in the silver eel trials.
