Changing the dominant narrative: a multidisciplinary conversation

Changing the dominant narrative: a multidisciplinary conversation
Changing the dominant narrative: a multidisciplinary conversation
Across disciplines, stories are told about our histories, cultures, and industries. More and more, research has the potential to question these dominant narratives, asking which agendas and biases have shaped the stories we know, which voices have been excluded, and offering the chance for suppressed narratives to re-emerge. In this informal conversational session, our panellists will discuss how their research across contemporary poetry, archaeology, and theatre criticism critique the dominant narratives of their disciplines.

Abstract

Across disciplines, stories are told about our histories, cultures, and industries. More and more, research has the potential to question these dominant narratives, asking which agendas and biases have shaped the stories we know, which voices have been excluded, and offering the chance for suppressed narratives to re-emerge. In this informal conversational session, our panellists will discuss how their research across contemporary poetry, archaeology, and theatre criticism critique the dominant narratives of their disciplines.
