Coupling into higher order modes of a hollow-core fiber due to fusion splicing
We investigate the impact of fusion-splicing on the modal purity when splicing nested antiresonant nodeless hollow-core fiber to standard solid-core fiber (SMF). By optimizing the procedure, unwanted cross-coupling below -27 dB is achieved.
