READ ME File For 'Velocity models of the Scanner Pockmark subsurface' Dataset DOI: 10.5258/SOTON/XXXXXX ReadMe Author: Farid Jedari-Eyvazi, University of Southampton ORCID ID: https://orcid.org/0000-0002-9045-9792 This dataset supports the thesis entitled "Imaging the Internal Structure of an Active Fluid Escape Structure in the North Sea: 3-D Full Waveform Inversion of the Scanner Pockmark OBS Seismic Dataset" AWARDED BY: Univeristy of Southampton DATE OF AWARD: 2025 DESCRIPTION OF THE DATA: - List of P-wave velocity (Vp) models derived from seismic data acquired over the Scanner Pockmark (SP) complex. The models were generated using full waveform inversion (FWI) approaches using the in-house software tools provided by Shell and Imperial Collegeand a Tomographic model (Tomo) using the open-source FAST tomography code. The FWI velocity models are in both binary and SEG-Y, while the Tomo velocity model is only in binary format. DOI: https://doi.org/10.5258/SOTON/D3589 This dataset contains: - FAST_Final_Tomo_Vp_GI_geo_SP: Tomo Velocity model produced using the FAST tomography code, based on GI airgun source and geophone data. - Imperial_Final_FWI_Vp_Bolt_hyd_SP: binary formatted FWI velocity model generated by Imperial College's FWI code, using Bolt airgun source and hydrophone data. - Imperial_Final_FWI_Vp_Bolt_hyd_SP.sgy: SEG-Y formatted version of the above Imperial FWI model. - Shell_Final_FWI_Vp_Bolt_geo_SP: binary formatted FWI velocity model generated by Shell’s FWI code, using Bolt airgun source and geophone data. - Shell_Final_FWI_Vp_Bolt_geo_SP.sgy: SEG-Y formatted version of the above Shell FWI model.
