Dataset supporting the paper "Stabilisation of FeCoNiCuPt high-entropy alloy nanoparticles by surface capping", University of Southampton -------------------- DATA & FILE OVERVIEW -------------------- The research data for the paper "Stabilisation of FeCoNiCuPt high-entropy alloy nanoparticles by surface capping" are present in the folder ''Raw_data'', where, they are distributed with respect to all the characterisation techniques performed on the materials. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Name of the subfolders are: XRD (for X-ray diffraction data) EDS (for Energy-dispersive X-ray spectroscopy data) TEM (for Transmission Electron Microscopy data) DLS (for hydrodynamic diameter data reports from dynamic light scattering) Zeta potential reports (for zeta potential reports from dynamic light scattering) --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- XRD folder has a .txt file, named ''FeCoNiCuPt XRD raw data'', which has the raw data of x-ray diffraction characterisation performed on uncapped FeCoNiCuPt material, where first column represents 2 theta (degree) and second column represents their resepective intensities. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- DLS folder is separated in two segments ''Hydrophobic capping agents'' and ''Hydrophilic capping agents'', where the reports for hydrodynamic diameter of all the FeCoNiCuPt nanoparticles capped in perticular capping agents can be found. Here, in the file name (pdf format), ''in situ'' and ''post synthesis'' after the name of the capping agents represents the method of applying the capping agent. DLS reports mentions the D10, D50, and D90 values, which are the average hydrodynamic diamter of smallest 10%, 50%, and 90% particles, respectively. Number-weighted D values can be find in the DLS reports. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Zeta potential reports are separated in two segments ''Hydrophobic'' and ''Hydrophilic'', where the reports for zeta potential of all the FeCoNiCuPt nanoparticles capped in perticular capping agents can be found. Here, in the file name (pdf format), ''in situ'' and ''post synthesis'' after the name of the capping agents represents the method of applying the capping agent. Mean zeta potential values of all the studied particles can be seen in their respective .pdf reports. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- EDS folder has images of Elemental mapping of all elemets in uncapped FeCoNiCuPt HEA particles, their EDS spectra (.bmp format) and weight % report (.docx format). --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- TEM folder is separated in three subfolders: ''FeCoNiCuPt uncapped'', ''Hydrophobic capping agents'' and ''Hydrophilic capping agents''. TEM micrographs of uncapped nanoparticles with respect to their measurement time (1 hour or 10 days) can be seen in ''FeCoNiCuPt uncapped'' subfolder. Here file name (ABCx) represents the magnification level of the perticular TEM micrograph. ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
