Industrial Decarbonisation Frontiers Report: Carbon capture and storage (CCS) spotlight: CO2 transport and storage
This report brings together the findings of IDRIC’s research on carbon dioxide (CO2) transport and storage, within the context of Carbon Capture and Storage (CCS) – a critical component of the UK’s industrial decarbonisation strategy. The research evaluates CO2 transportation and storage solutions at national, regional, and laboratory scales, to address decarbonisation challenges for industrial clusters, and provides recommendations for industry stakeholders and policymakers. The research aims to de-risk CO2 transport and storage to accelerate the UK’s net zero goals by establishing a competitive CCS market.

Abstract

This report brings together the findings of IDRIC’s research on carbon dioxide (CO2) transport and storage, within the context of Carbon Capture and Storage (CCS) – a critical component of the UK’s industrial decarbonisation strategy. The research evaluates CO2 transportation and storage solutions at national, regional, and laboratory scales, to address decarbonisation challenges for industrial clusters, and provides recommendations for industry stakeholders and policymakers. The research aims to de-risk CO2 transport and storage to accelerate the UK’s net zero goals by establishing a competitive CCS market.
