The Network-Enabled Smart Energy Meter (NESEM) is designed as a common energy meter for a group of houses without replacing the existing digital energy meters. NESEM performs smart metering, including personalized recommendations for users using AI based on the collected data. It encourages the affordable rollout of smart metering in underdeveloped countries where digital and communication infrastructure is scarce.
