Iron deficiency in neurology
Iron plays a crucial role in neurodevelopment and normal neurological function. This chapter reviews the iron physiology in the brain and why it may be particularly susceptible to iron deficiency. The neurological symptoms and conditions associated with iron deficiency are presented, together with recommendations for management in clinical practice.
