The score features two sets of closely related pieces: (1) five etudes for solo recorder, and (2) five impromptus for two recorders.
etude 1: pre-cadent multiphonics etude 2: quarter tone rustic dance etude 3: high notes on a great bass etude 4: polytonal jumps etude 5: tuplets (notated rubato)
impromptu 1 impromptu 2 impromptu 3 impromptu 4 impromptu 5.

Each set is approximately 13 minutes in duration.
