Polypeptides and peptide tags capable of spontaneous isopeptide bond formation at low temperature and low pH and uses thereof
Polypeptides and peptide tags capable of spontaneous isopeptide bond formation at low temperature and low pH and uses thereof
The present invention relates to a two-part linker comprising a peptide (peptide tag) and a polypeptide (protein) that is capable of spontaneously forming an isopeptide bond, particularly in low temperature and low pH conditions. Recombinant or synthetic polypeptides comprising the polypeptide or peptide tag, nucleic acid molecules encoding the polypeptide, peptide tag or recombinant polypeptides, vectors comprising said nucleic acid molecules, and host cells comprising said vectors and nucleic acid molecules are provided herein. A kit and apparatus comprising said polypeptide and peptide tag and various methods and uses of the polypeptide and peptide tag are also provided.
