Religion and trust: basic theory and trust in organizations
Religion and trust: basic theory and trust in organizations
The study of religion and trust, especially within organizations, has largely been conducted in silos. However, given the complex implications of religion on decision-making, moral reasoning, and social identity, it is important to recognize the role that religion plays in trust within organizations, including religious ones. This chapter outlines the current state of research on religion and trust, provide a case example of what happens when religions break trust with their adherents, and propose future directions.
