The East Coast Regional Environmental Characterisation
The East Coast Regional Environmental Characterisation
The East Coast Regional Environmental Characterisation (REC) Programme is a multidisciplinary investigation that has employed “state of the art” techniques to develop a broad understanding of the habitats and areas of archaeological interest over an extensive area of approximately 3,300 km2 of the seabed off East Anglia. The study was conducted over a three-year period and has been funded by the Marine Aggregate Levy Sustainability Fund. The overall aim of this study was to provide integrated broadscale maps to underpin marine spatial planning and to enable the sustainable management of offshore resources now and into the future.
