Proceedings of the 33rd European Safety and Reliability Conference (ESREL 2023): the future of safety in a re-connected world
ESREL (European Safety and Reliability) is an annual conference series organised by the European Safety and Reliability Association (ESRA) and established in 1989. It brings together academics and industry professionals to present and discuss advances in safety, risk, and reliability across a wide range of applications. The theme of this year’s conference is “The Future of Safety in a Re-Connected World,” reflecting the evolving challenges posed by technological developments and nature-induced hazards in a post-Covid-19 society. Key topics include risk and reliability analysis methods, maintenance, optimisation, prognostics and health management, accelerated life testing, and accident modelling, with special attention to risk perception and communication. Application areas span aviation, oil and gas, nuclear energy, autonomous systems, Natech, security, transportation, healthcare, and emerging systems that support the transition to net-zero emissions, such as hydrogen power generation.
