Ingestion rates were calculated using the equations of Frost (1972) and converted to carbon specific ingestion rates using published estimates of copepod biomass (Schukat et al., 2013b; Bode-Dalby et al., 2022). "C ml av" summary table of results from sheets "ctrl5_1_20m" to "ini5_6_20m" "ctrl5_1_20m" contains the taxonomic classification ("class") and volume ("volume ABD") of each plankton particle analysed by the FlowCam 8400 and measured in visual spreadsheet using the volume ABD (area based diameter) measurement. And the final carbon content (ug C) of that particle using the volume to carbon conversion equation. For each different "class" of particle, the "count", "carbon content", "particle/ml" and "carbon/ml" calculated, and "dilution factor" given. The naming convention for the sheet is ctrl referred to this sample being a control sample after 24h where no grazers were added. The 5 refers to this being the 5th grazing experiment done, the 1 refers to 1 out of 3 replicates and 20m to the water coming from 20m depth.
