The experimental campaign includes acoustic measurements, surface pressure distributions, hotwire anemometry, and particle image velocimetry (PIV). Data is organised in the following folders: ============================================================================ Folder Structure ============================================================================ 1. Acoustics - Description: Narrowband far-field acoustic data acquired from the overhead microphones defined in Table A1. - Files: - corrected_noise_spectra_WallMountedSpoiler_30deg.dat - Format: ASCII .dat files (description in file) - Sampling Rate: 25.6 kHz 2. Boundary Layer Velocity Profiles - Description: Boundary layer velocity profiles at two streamwise locations upstream of the spoiler: (a) x = -0.47 m (x^* = -4.4) and (a) x = -0.33 m (x^* = -3). Locations are based on the coordinate system defined in Fig.1. - Files: - BL_30deg_-0.47m.dat : Velocity Profile at x = -0.47 m away from the leading edge of the spoiler. (In the numerical simulation, this refers to 30xle i.e. x = 0.18 mm from the nozzle) - BL_30deg_-0.33m.dat : Velocity Profile at x = -0.33 m away from the leading edge of the spoiler. (In the numerical simulation, this refers to 30xle i.e. x = 0.32 mm from the nozzle) - Format: ASCII .dat files (columns: z(mm), U(m/s)) 3. Hotwire (Contours) - Description: Contours of the mean velocity and the turbulent intensity of the effective cooling velocity. Measurements were done at two planes, HW_1 = 0.159 m and HW_2 = 0.212 m, based on the coordinate axis defined in Fig.1. The acquisition map is provided in Fig. 2. - Files: - ContourPlots_HW_x1.5.dat - Data for the mean effective velocity and turbulent intensity at a plane x* = 1.5 downstream of the spoiler's leading edge. - ContourPlots_HW_x2.0.dat - Data for the mean effective velocity and turbulent intensity at a plane x* = 2 downstream of the spoiler's leading edge. - Format: ASCI .dat file (coloumns y*(), z*(), Ueff(m/s), TI) 4. Hotwire (Single Point Turbulence) - Description: Single-probe measurement of turbulence PSD spectra calculated on the fluctuating component of the instantaneous effective cooling velocity (u'_eff). Measurements were done at two streamwise planes, HW_1 = 0.159 m and HW_2 = 0.212 m, based on the coordinate axis defined in Fig.1. Point measurements were done at two locations: P1 along the shear layer, P2 along the side edge of the spoiler. Refer to Table A3 for the spatial location of the probe. - Files: - HW_HW1_P1.txt - x = 0.159 m, y = 0 m, z = 0.087 m (HW_1, P1 -> Along the shear layer) - HW_HW1_P2.txt - x = 0.159 m, y = -0.125 m, z = 0.054 m (HW_1, P2 -> Along the side of the spoiler) - HW_HW2_P1.txt - x = 0.212 m, y = 0 m, z = 0.087 m (HW_2, P1 -> Along the shear layer) - HW_HW2_P2.txt - x = 0.212 m, y = -0.125 m, z = 0.054 m (HW_2, P2 -> Along the side of the spoiler) - Format: TXT (columns: f(Hz), u'_eff^2(m^2/s^2)) 5. On_Surface_Pressure - Description: Mean on-surface pressure along the model's symmetry plane (y = 0 m). Coordinate axes are defined as shown in Fig.1. Refer to Table A2 for the location of the pressure taps on the model. - Files: - MeanOnSurfacePressure_y0_MountingBasePlate: C_p distribution along the base mounting plate. - MeanOnSurfacePressure_y0_SpoilerUpstreamFace: C_p distribution along the upstream face of the wall-mounted spoiler plate. - MeanOnSurfacePressure_y0_SpoilerUpstreamFace: C_p distribution along the downstream face of the wall-mounted spoiler plate. -Format: TXT (columns: x(m), C_p) 6. PIV Data - Description: 2D PIV data along the symmetry plane of the spoiler. - Files: - WallMountedSpoiler_30deg_PIV_DataSet.dat -Format: TECPLOT .dat (UMag(m/s), 2DTKE(m^2/s^2), Vorticity_y(1/s), x(m), z(m)) ==================================================================================== Additional Notes ==================================================================================== - The results were acquired at a freestream velocity of 60 m/s. - For further details on the test facility and measurement setup, refer to the "Experimental Methodology" section and Appendix A in the published journal paper. ==================================================================== CONTACT ==================================================================== For questions, please contact: Owen Parnis Email: o.parnis@soton.ac.uk Affiliation: University of Southampton Copyright © 2025 by Parnis and Angland.
