Abstract
The dataset produced provides start-of-year (1st January) annual subnational population estimates by age and sex for 242 countries and territories, covering the global population from 2010 to 2030. Each record contains sex-specific population counts at the finest administrative level available to us in each country (i.e., the smallest subnational unit for which data are available). Counts are disaggregated as follows: single-year age for infants (age 0), the age group 1–4, and five-year age intervals thereafter up to 90+.
