Creative work and creative education: good intentions and critical sharpness

Creative work and creative education: good intentions and critical sharpness
Creative work and creative education: good intentions and critical sharpness
This presentation will introduce and reflect on several projects and publications at the meeting point of Creative Work and Creative Education. The initial framing will come from several projects exploring how students negotiate that transition from higher education into creative careers and the idea of ‘becoming a cultural worker’. Three projects (Creative Contexts; Unexpected Enterprises; Creative Futures Exchange) will continue this focus on how students can encounter and contest possible creative futures but emphasize the different pedagogies approaches and creative methods used. Running throughout the presentation will be questions of positionality and how educators and students with good intentions can employ their critical sharpness to (re)imagine creative work futures.
