Bates, Andrew Charles (2026) EMERALD: A multi-centre, randomised, pilot feasibility study to compare the effectiveness of eye-movement desensitisation and reprocessing versus usual care in the psychological recovery of intensive care survivors. University of Southampton doi:10.5258/SOTON/D3865 [Dataset]
Abstract
This dataset contains anonymised data generated as part of the EMERALD study, a multicentre mixed-methods feasibility randomised controlled trial evaluating Eye Movement Desensitisation and Reprocessing (EMDR) for post-traumatic stress symptoms in survivors of critical illness. The dataset includes baseline demographic and clinical variables, clinician-administered CAPS-5 assessments, self-reported psychometric measures (IES-R, PHQ-9, GAD-7, EQ-5D-5L). Data were collected at baseline (hospital discharge) and 3 and 12 months following discharge. These data underpin the doctoral thesis: Eye movement desensitisation and reprocessing to improve mental health following intensive care admission (University of Southampton, 2026).
