Reed, Milos Nedeljkovic, David Thomson TITLE: High Efficiency and Responsivity Universal1 Silicon Modulator and Detector for the O-band -------------------- DATA & FILE OVERVIEW -------------------- Data types in this dataset: images (.tif), experimental data (.xlsx, .s2p), simulations (.xlsx, .sta, .log, .mat) This dataset contains the microscope images, experimental measurements, and numerical simulation results used to generate the figures included in the main text. This dataset contains three main folders: 'device' This folder contains microscope images of the fabricated devices in .tif format. 'experiment' This folder contains experimental characterization data for both modulator and detector operation: .xlsx files: DC measurement data, including modulator and photodetector static characteristics (e.g., I–V curves, photocurrent/responsivity versus bias under different input powers). .s2p files: Small-signal frequency response data exported from a Keysight Lightwave Component Analyzer (LCA), used to characterize S21 and extract the EO/OE 3-dB bandwidth. 'simulation' This folder contains simulation results generated using Silvaco and Lumerical: .sta files: Silvaco simulation output files containing device simulation results at different bias voltages. These files can be opened directly in Silvaco. .log files: Silvaco log outputs (e.g., dark-current simulation results). .xlsx files: Post-processed simulation data (e.g., electron/hole distributions and band-energy information versus bias). .mat files: Lumerical simulation outputs (e.g., effective index and phase shift versus bias), used to quantify voltage-dependent optical properties. The files are provided as TIFF images for device photographs, Excel spreadsheets for tabulated experimental/simulation results, Touchstone .s2p files for measured S-parameters, Silvaco .sta/.log files for device simulations, and MATLAB .mat files for Lumerical simulation outputs
