This data set supports the conference paper for SPIE Photonics west (2026) titled "Investigation of optical losses in large-core metal-coated fibers in the 1.5–2μm spectral range" This data set contains: Fig 1: Comparison of temperature distribution in (a) 10/125 µm (b) 20/400 µm active fibers coated with polymer and metal, without any active cooling and under a heat load 500W/m Fig 2: (a) Refractive index profile of Fiber A - C; (b) background loss of passive fibers, Fiber A and Fiber B; and (c) background loss comparison of polymer- and metal- coated Yb-doped fiber, Fiber C.
