File names indicate the region that data applies to (Azores, Gulf Stream, Cape Verde and USA) and whether is derived from shark tracking locations (used) or from randomly generated pseudoabsences (available) - File contains shp files of kernel utilization distribution polygons for mako sharks across the North Atlantic and at four regional scales. File names indicate the region that KUDs apply to (North Atlantic, Azores, Gulf Stream, Cape Verde and USA) and the kernel probability encompassed by the polygons (50%, 75% and 95%) North Atlantic KUDs.zip Fishing Rasters.zip - Raster files of longline fishing effort, mako shark catch and catch per unit effort within the Atlantic Ocean ETA KUDs.zip - Shp files containing kernel utilization distribution polygons for mako sharks within the eastern tropical Atlantic. File names indicate the years that data relate to (2017-18, 2023 and all years combined) and the kernel probability encompassed by the polygons (50%, 75% and 95%) -------------------------- METHODOLOGICAL INFORMATION -------------------------- Description of methods used for collection/generation of data: Data derived from electronic tracking of mako sharks using satellite tags, archival tags and biologgers. Methods for processing the data: Full methods accompanying speed calibrations can be found in Waller et al. 2023; Direct measurement of cruising and burst swimming speeds of the shortfin mako shark (Isurus oxyrinchus) with estimates of field metabolic rate.
