READ ME File For Dataset in support of the thesis 'Biogeochemical processes in the eastern Pacific sector of the Southern Ocean' Dataset DOI: 10.5258/SOTON/D3460 Date that the file was created: March, 2026 ------------------- GENERAL INFORMATION ------------------- ReadMe Author: Pablo Trucco Pignata, University of Southampton, https://orcid.org/0000-0003-3996-4600 This dataset supports the thesis entitled "Biogeochemical processes in the eastern Pacific sector of the Southern Ocean" AWARDED BY: Univeristy of Southampton DATE OF AWARD: 2026 DESCRIPTION OF THE DATA This dataset contains the biogeochemical observations used in support of my PhD thesis. It integrates measurements from multiple autonomous and observational platforms, including Biogeochemical Argo floats, Saildrone surface vehicle data, and Ocean Observatory Initiative (OOI) moorings and gliders, alongside discrete bottle samples used for calibration. The dataset includes physical, biogeochemical, and carbonate system variables (e.g. temperature, salinity, dissolved oxygen, nitrate, pH, DIC, total alkalinity, and pCO₂), and has been quality controlled and processed to produce a consistent time series for the eastern Pacific sector of the Southern Ocean. It underpins analyses of carbonate chemistry variability, air–sea CO₂ fluxes, and biological productivity. This dataset contains: File types: MATLAB (.mat) Temporal coverage: Approximately 2008–2022 (depending on platform; includes OOI data from 2015–2020 and Saildrone data from 2019) Spatial coverage: Eastern Pacific sector of the Southern Ocean (~50°–70°S, 70°–130°W) -------------------------- SHARING/ACCESS INFORMATION -------------------------- Licence: CC-BY Recommended citation for the data: This dataset supports the thesis: Trucco Pignata, P.
