Nanowatt photonics of structural transformations in a single nanoparticle
We report on the observation of reversible, surface-driven, excitation-induced structural transitions in a single metallic nanoparticle and discuss the microscopic mechanisms, dynamics, energetics and potential applications of this phenomenon.
