Review of Useful Mathematical & Physical Formulae
Review of Useful Mathematical & Physical Formulae
Formulae it has aplenty, but the usefulness of being able to find the surface area of a frustum is questionable. Indeed, if this book were truly intended to be useful it would have included one of the approximate formulae for the perimeter of an ellipse rather than just passing over the question in silence. Were it not for the cartoon wizard and the brief discussion of ’higher dimensions’ (without formulae) this could be a 1920s formula book, not that that is necessarily a bad thing.

Abstract
Formulae it has aplenty, but the usefulness of being able to find the surface area of a frustum is questionable. Indeed, if this book were truly intended to be useful it would have included one of the approximate formulae for the perimeter of an ellipse rather than just passing over the question in silence. Were it not for the cartoon wizard and the brief discussion of ’higher dimensions’ (without formulae) this could be a 1920s formula book, not that that is necessarily a bad thing.
