A German-German correspondence

This essay outlines the the correspondence between the GDR writer Monika Maron and the West German writer Joseph von Westphalen originally published in ZEITmagazin (3.7.1987-11.3.1988) and later in book form (Fischer 1988). It discusses the ideological differences apparent not only at the content level but also in the discourse of these letters.
