New therapies for treating infections in infants and children
New therapies for treating infections in infants and children
Infections remain important causes of mortality and morbidity in infants and children. The first part of this review examines evidence for the use of novel or experimental treatments in serious bacterial infections. New therapeutic strategies to treat specific viral and fungal infections are also considered. Finally, we examine novel strategies to prevent infections in the community and in the hospital setting. New treatments for tropical infections are out of the scope of this review.
