Finite element analysis of tested reinforced concrete connections
This paper presents both experimental behaviour and finite-element analyses of reinforced concrete slab-column connections. Testing work reported here are focused on the effect of variations of the thickness and the amount of main reinforcement in the slab. Finite-element models were then set-up to simulate the tested connections. Different numerical techniques, and models developed have been found to give a reasonably accurate simulation of the load-deflection curves, and also give a good indication of the cracking behaviour of the slabs. The finite-element model is then used for further parametric study for punching strength of the reinforced concrete slabs.

Abstract
