Numerical study of plate girder webs with holes
Numerical study of plate girder webs with holes
The analysis 22 transversely-stiffened plate girder panels using the finite element method is of reported. The webs of these panels contained circular, square and elongated circular holes and they were subjected to a combination of bending and shearing loads. The panel ultimate strength and the stress fields in their webs at collapse were obtained. There was good agreement of the ultimate strength between the calculated and the experimental values where available...

Abstract
The analysis 22 transversely-stiffened plate girder panels using the finite element method is of reported. The webs of these panels contained circular, square and elongated circular holes and they were subjected to a combination of bending and shearing loads. The panel ultimate strength and the stress fields in their webs at collapse were obtained. There was good agreement of the ultimate strength between the calculated and the experimental values where available...
