Photonics of structural transformations in Ga nanoparticles
Gallium nanoparticles show a substantial optical nonlinearity as the result of a light-induced structural transition. Reversible reflectivity changes of several percent can be induced in response to low intensity (~ kWcm-2) optical excitation.
