Order of magnitude pulse compression in a CW synchronously-pumped optical parametric oscillator using periodically-poled lithium niobate
With 4 psec pump pulses from a diode-pumped cw mode-locked Nd:YLF laser, a synchronously-pumped parametric oscillator using periodically-poled LiNbO3 generates 200-250 fs signal pulses, with peak power exceeding that of the pump.
