Titanium diffused waveguides in sapphire
Optical waveguides in titanium-diffused sapphire are demonstrated, with single mode operation (lambda =633nm) observed after 1 hour diffusion at 1950°C. Waveguide characteristics and fabrication conditions are identified for the future development of a channel waveguide laser
