Spectroscopy and CW 2-photon upconversion in Tm3+-doped ZnCl2-based glass
Spectroscopy and CW 2-photon upconversion in Tm3+-doped ZnCl2-based glass
In this paper, the preparation, spectroscopic characterization and optical up-conversion properties of Tm3+-doped ZnCl2 based glass are presented. The particular arrangement of the Tm3+ energy levels, combined with the low phonon energy of the glass, yields two continuous two-photon up-conversion processes from infrared light (795 nm) to blue (483 nm) and red (653 nm and 664 nm) light, and from red (707 nm) to ultraviolet (378 nm) light, respectively.
