Internationalisation of HE: a prospective view to 2025
The chapter provides a prospective view of the likely impact of globalisation by 2025. It discusses the possible emergence of supra universities which will have a global rather than an international mission. such universities will be at the forefront of the interrogation of global issues such as world poverty, climate change, global terrorism, global finance and trade; renewable energy development among others. Such universities will organise their roles around the concept of multinational organisations with a strictly business corporate machinery and a research and education business manadate growing around world problems and issues.
