Research report: Nottingham emergency care / On demand services project
Research report: Nottingham emergency care / On demand services project
The project has been established to undertake a whole system review of emergency care pathways and on-demand services across the Nottingham health community. It will establish patterns and trends in demand and will make recommendations on best practice to alleviate blockages in the system.
The project is an integral and vital part of the modernisation agenda. It forms a large part of the work to aid the implementation of the GP Out of Hours review and is a key plank of the Acute Services Strategy. It will enable Nottingham to comply with guidance in the forthcoming strategic statement on Unscheduled Care and will facilitate the achievement of targets, both local and specified in the NHS Plan. NottWest and structured winter planning have reaped real benefits over the last few years – it is an aim of the project to capitalise upon this good work and to facilitate the regular sharing and use of information between stakeholders for planning and development purposes, to engender and ongoing intelligent and unified approach to emergency care.
