Key ideas in teaching mathematics: Algebraic reasoning
This short article points to the key ideas in teaching the mathematics of algebra in Key Stage 3 (KS3) of the curriculum in England for 11-14 year olds. Research indicates that there can be eight approaches to teaching, each of which has strengths and weaknesses.
