Dataset supporting the University of Southampton Doctoral Thesis "An integrated Investigation of nostalgia across three experimental studies"
Dataset supporting the University of Southampton Doctoral Thesis "An integrated Investigation of nostalgia across three experimental studies". The dataset includes all data that was used in the above thesis, throughout Chapter 2, Chapter 3, and Chapter 4. Chapter_2_Face_Categorisation_Study_1_AVERAGE.csv: This data was collected during a single session in a laboratory setting. Survey questionnaires were used through iSurvey. Additionally, facial stimuli were derived from the NimStim face set (Tottenham et al., 2009) for the face categorization task. Stimuli were presented using MATLAB (Version 7.4; MathWorks, Natick, MA), on a MacBook Pro (Apple Inc., USA), with a 13.3-inch (diagonal) LED-backlit monitor, at approximately a 12.56° subtended angle, and a viewing distance of 55 cm. Chapter_2_Face_Categorisation_Study_2_Averaged.csv: This data was collected during a single session in an online setting. Survey questionnaires were used. The face categorisation and face rating tasks were presented online via “Just Another Tool for Online Studies” (JATOS; a web server used to host JavaScript-based online research projects; Lange et al., 2015), with an embedded link into Qualtrics Survey Software. Chapter_3_The_efficacy_of_VR.csv: This data was collected during a single session in a laboratory setting. Survey questionnaires were used through Qualtrics. VR-related nostalgia induction was presented using an Oculus Rift VR head-mounted display with 1080 × 1200 resolution per eye (Facebook Inc.) running on a Dell computer with an Intel i7 processor (Windows 10 operating system).
