Abstract

Dataset supporting the publication "Response of downstream moving European eel (Anguilla anguilla) to hydrodynamic conditions created by channel constrictions", submitted to the Journal of Ecohydraulics. Information presented in the excel file contains treatment data from the flume study with eels, including results for behavioural response and delay metrics. Columns include: year, date, treatment conditions (e.g. constriction design and discharge regime), eel length and mass, behavioural response on entering the observation and first encountering the channel constrictions, and time to pass. Two supplementary videos are also provide that illustrate "rejection" behaviours when encountering the smooth tapered and sharp angled constriction entrances.
