Fibre vibrometer with three-phase fringe-analysis

Johnson, M. and Delaporte, Y. (1993) Fibre vibrometer with three-phase fringe-analysis Optics Communications, 101, (1-2) (doi:10.1016/0030-4018(93)90312-S).

Record type: Article

A fiber-remoted, non-contact, optical surface-vibrometer which uses no source wavelength modulation is reported. Three-phase fringe sampling using a 3 x 3 fiber coupler and processing using a digital processor allow automatic multi-fringe unwrapping, sub-fringe interpolation and insensitivity to interferogram intensity and contrast variations. A noise-equivalent sensitivity of 50 µ.fringe/√Hz is demonstrated.
